Clear Robotics has raised $1.75 million in a pre-Series A funding round to expand deployment of its autonomous vessels across Asia and the Middle East. Led by Shipsfocus Ventures, the round ncluded follow-on investments from Katapult Ocean, SGInnovate, M7 Holdings MGS Ventures and other strategic investors, according to the company.
Clear Robotics, which describes itself as a “Made in India” maritime technology company, develops autonomous surface vessels for maritime infrastructure, surveying and environmental monitoring.
The funding will support expansion into Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East, while also speeding up development of larger unmanned vessels and automated port surveying technologies. The funding will also be used to scale the company’s vessel retrofit technology and go toward preparations for future open-ocean operations.
“This funding is a critical catalyst, accelerating our path toward becoming a comprehensive solution for operations and creating the world’s largest fleet of unmanned ships.” said co-founder and CEO Sidhant Gupta.
The company noted it currently operates a fleet of 26 all-electric unmanned surface vessels that use artificial intelligence for navigation and data collection. According to Clear Robotics, the vessels are designed to perform maritime operations with minimal human intervention while improving efficiency for infrastructure operators and maritime customers.
“This new capital allows us to expand our engineering team, accelerate our R&D into automated port surveying, and build the next generation of larger vessel classes,” added Utkarsh Goel, co-founder and CTO.
Founded in 2020, Clear Robotics has expanded into markets including Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. The company said its autonomous vessels were recently deployed as part of a pilot project launched during a major waterfront development initiative in the Philippines.
Clear Robotics previously won Singapore’s Pier71 Smart Port Challenge in 2024 and the Captain’s Table maritime innovation competition in 2022.
