- Karias Health has launched Faith, an AI-powered care assistant designed to help patients understand medical appointments, manage follow-up care and navigate healthcare decisions.

- Karias said the system is designed to support patients during and immediately after medical appointments, integrating care instructions, referral management, benefits information and healthcare navigation through its broader care platform.
Leaving a doctor’s appointment without a clear understanding of the diagnosis, treatment plan or next steps isn’t unusual for patients. To help cut through the confusion, Karias Health has launched Faith, an AI-powered care assistant designed to help patients understand medical appointments, manage follow-up care and navigate healthcare decisions.
The system is integrated into Karias Health’s care navigation platform and combines appointment summaries, care instructions, referral management and benefits information in a single interface, according to the healthcare plan provider.
“We are at a crossroads. Employers can’t absorb rising healthcare costs, and patients deserve a system that actually works for them,” founder and CEO Nicole Semeraro said in the announcement. “With Faith and Karias combined, we’ve built a first-of-its-kind guided care intelligence platform that puts the patient at the center, and we’re incredibly proud to bring it to market.”
How Does Faith Work?
Unlike traditional care navigation tools that operate after an appointment, Karias said Faith is designed to assist patients during and immediately following medical visits, when care decisions are being made. The company said providing guidance at that point in the process can improve follow-through on treatment recommendations and help patients make more informed healthcare choices.
With the patient’s consent, Faith can participate in medical appointments to capture and summarize conversations in plain language while generating follow-up tasks based on a provider’s recommendations. It is also designed to help patients identify in-network providers and understand coverage options when additional care is required.
The company pointed out that employers and healthcare providers continue to look for ways to reduce healthcare costs and improve patient engagement. Karias cited JAMA research suggesting that many patients struggle to understand medical information and frequently fail to complete specialist referrals because of confusion, cost concerns or administrative barriers.
Faith is currently available to Karias Health members and integrated with the Karias Health platform, which includes provider search, telehealth access, pharmacy support, scheduling services and a concierge team that assists members with navigating the healthcare system.
