Quantum Systems has announced a $1.2 billion Series D financing round to expand production of uncrewed systems and related software for defense customers.
The Munich-based company said the round values it at about $8 billion after the investment. The financing was co-led by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus and Advent.
Other investors include BOND, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Wellington Management, A.P. Moller Holding and Elephant Lake Ventures. Existing shareholders Balderton and HV Capital also participated, according to the company.
Quantum Systems develops military autonomous systems for air, land and sea the company noted the new capital will help it move from individual uncrewed platforms toward a more connected family of systems tied together through its software ecosystem MOSAIC UXS.
“In just a few years, Quantum Systems has become a trusted defense technology partner,” noted co-founder and CEO Sven Kruck. “This financing allows us to scale production, expand globally, and deliver the next generation of AI-powered autonomous systems across air, land, sea and adjacent domains.”
The financing will be used to expand production capacity, strengthen supply chains, scale delivery across allied markets and continue investing in software and AI capabilities, according to Quantum Systems. The company said the financing more than doubled its valuation, citing revenue growth, profitability and demand for autonomous defense systems. Quantum Systems did not disclose revenue figures.
“The future is unmanned,” co-CEO and co-founderFlorian Seibe said. “Defense will be defined by autonomous systems that can operate together across domains in real time. With Quantum Systems, we are building a next generation neo prime that has the potential to disrupt defense as we know it today. We are profitable, deployed around the world and with the latest financing round we now have more than $1.2Bn of dry powder to execute.”
Quantum Systems said its systems were used in more than 19,000 missions in Ukraine in 2025. The company has also expanded its production footprint across Germany, Ukraine, the United States, Australia, Romania, the United Kingdom and the Baltics.
Airbus Defence and Space Collaboration
Alongside the round, Airbus Defence and Space and Quantum Systems agreed to deepen their strategic collaboration. The companies said the partnership is aimed at developing sovereign European defense capabilities by combining work in software, AI and autonomous systems.
“Autonomous systems are critical, rapidly evolving force multipliers,” said Michael Schoellhorn, CEO at Airbus Defence and Space. “Their full operational value comes when they are deployed with human oversight, trusted command-and-control structures and seamless integration across crewed and uncrewed assets at the tactical edge. This is why we are excited to deepen our cooperation with Quantum Systems: We are combining crucial architectural, software and AI competencies, thereby accelerating the sensor-to-shooter chain across our joint portfolios. This is where Airbus’ role as a large defense prime is evolving into that of an architect and ecosystem builder.”
Morgan Stanley & Co. International served as exclusive financial adviser and placement agent for the transaction, according to the company.
