Agrikola AI, a Barcelona-based agri-tech startup, has closed its pre-seed funding round with participation from Zubi Capital, Norrsken VC, Masia VC and Ona Capital. The investment will support development and commercialization of the company’s autonomous robotics and AI technology aimed at advancing sustainable agriculture.
Founded and led by Ricard Pardell, Agrikola AI is developing autonomous electric unmanned ground vehicles designed to help farmers prevent fungal crop diseases without relying on chemical fungicides, offering an alternative to traditional pesticide-based crop protection. The company’s robots use advanced sensors to monitor crops in real time, detect diseases and weeds, and collect field data, feeding that information into predictive AI models that generate insights intended to help farmers optimize crop management and improve yields.

Agrikola AI said its broader goal is to reduce pesticide use and lower agriculture’s carbon footprint by combining AI, robotics and data analytics. Investors highlighted the company’s potential to contribute to the next generation of agricultural technology by pairing innovation with measurable environmental impact. With the new funding, Agrikola AI plans to strengthen its technology, expand its team, and accelerate deployment of its autonomous systems as part of a broader push toward more sustainable and climate-resilient farming practices.
