OpenAI Secures Historic Funding and Expands Developer Ecosystem Through Strategic Partnerships

OpenAI has announced a massive $110 billion private funding round, one of the largest in history, led by $50 billion from Amazon and $30 billion each from Nvidia and SoftBank at a $730 billion pre-money valuation. The round remains open to additional investors. The investment includes major infrastructure commitments, with OpenAI deepening collaboration with Amazon Web Services and Nvidia to scale compute capacity for global AI deployment. Amazon Chief Executive Officer Andy Jassy indicated the partnership will enable new stateful runtime environments on AWS Bedrock, while Nvidia will provide dedicated training and inference capacity using advanced systems. OpenAI’s prior round in 2025 raised $40 billion at a $300 billion valuation.

Separately, Figma has partnered with OpenAI to integrate the Codex AI coding system directly into its design platform, enabling seamless movement between code and visual workflows. Chief Design Officer Loredana Crisan said the integration aims to combine engineering and creative processes, while Codex product lead Alexander Embiricos emphasized accessibility for both designers and developers. Codex adoption has surged, with more than one million weekly users following recent releases.
