Revobots Introduces All-Weather, All-Terrain. Autonomous Patrol Robot

Insider Brief

  • Revobots introduced TASKBOT SCOUT XT, an all-weather version of its autonomous patrol robot designed for outdoor enforcement and monitoring across campuses and mixed-use spaces.
  • The platform adds an IP65-rated enclosure, extended-wheelbase all-wheel-drive chassis, outdoor-calibrated vision systems and all-terrain wheels, while running on the company’s existing Robots-as-a-Service model and human-in-the-loop oversight stack.
  • Revobots said SCOUT XT completed pilot testing at Xavier University, supporting automated license plate recognition enforcement and expanding coverage without increasing staffing levels.

Revobots is taking its autonomous patrol platform outdoors.

The Phoenix-based robotics company has introduced TASKBOT SCOUT XT, an all-weather version of its existing indoor patrol robot, designed for exterior enforcement, monitoring and coverage in environments where terrain and weather introduce operational risk. According to Revobots, SCOUT XT is built to extend autonomous coverage into parking lots, campuses and mixed-use outdoor spaces where consistent patrol has historically been difficult to maintain.

The platform combines hardware upgrades with the company’s existing AI and oversight stack. Key features include:

  • IP65-rated enclosure for protection against dust and water exposure
  • Extended-wheelbase, all-wheel-drive chassis for stability across uneven pavement and grade transitions
  • Outdoor-calibrated vision and navigation systems for variable lighting and longer sight lines
  • All-terrain wheels designed for mixed surfaces such as gravel, cracked pavement and curb transitions

According to the company, SCOUT XT runs on the same backend as the company’s indoor SCOUT platform, including Revobots’ Robots-as-a-Service subscription model and its REVO Pilot human-in-the-loop oversight layer. The robot operates autonomously by default, escalating to human supervision when conditions require intervention.

Revobots said the platform recently completed pilot testing at Xavier University in Cincinnati, where it supported automated license plate recognition parking enforcement across multiple campus lots. The deployment is intended to expand coverage without increasing staffing levels, particularly in environments facing labor constraints.

The company is working alongside Campus Innovation and its C-Park platform to integrate the system into existing campus infrastructure. Additional outdoor deployments are planned as Revobots moves to extend its task-adaptive robotics model beyond controlled interior environments.
