Monday.com, the Israeli workplace software company, is laying off approximately 630 employees, roughly 20% of its workforce, as part of a restructuring effort aimed at concentrating resources on its AI Work Platform. The company said the move is intended to create a leaner, more focused operating model centered on AI development.
The layoffs follow a pivot earlier this year in which Monday.com redesigned its product lineup around the belief that enterprise customers increasingly want AI agents working alongside employees. The company’s AI Work Platform currently includes a no-code app builder, a customizable AI agent, a workflow automation tool, and a chatbot capable of tasks such as generating reports and updating dashboards.
Monday.com joins a growing list of technology companies that have cut jobs this year while redirecting investment toward AI initiatives. According to Layoffs.fyi, more than 122,000 tech roles have been eliminated in 2026 so far, with a record share of companies citing AI-related restructuring as a factor. Industry-wide layoffs reached a multi-year monthly high in May, reflecting broader momentum behind the shift toward AI-focused business models.
Monday.com said it expects to incur between $45 million and $55 million in charges related to the restructuring.
