Leveraging OpenAI’s technology, these “AI PCs” are engineered for efficiency and enhanced security, featuring Intel Core Ultra processors with a specialized neural processing engine (NPU).
Available for pre-order with configurations up to 64GB RAM and 1TB storage, they are set to ship from April 9. Despite focusing on the business sector initially, Microsoft reassures its dedication to consumer devices, hinting at more AI-centric products to come.
“We absolutely remain committed to consumer devices,” a spokesperson told CNBC in an email. “Building great devices that people love to use aligns closely with our company mission to empower individuals as well as organizations. We are excited to be bringing devices to market that deliver great AI experiences to our customers. This commercial announcement is only the first part of this effort.
