SoundHound AI Showcases Next-Generation AI-Powered Platform for Restaurant Automation

SoundHound AI, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOUN), a global leader in voice artificial intelligence, has launched the next generation of its AI-powered platform, enhancing automation for restaurants with improved accuracy, speed, and seamless omnichannel ordering. The platform expands its Dynamic Drive-Thru capabilities to include Call-to-Order, Text-to-Order, Scan-to-Order, and In-Car Voice Ordering, offering restaurants an integrated solution for modernized customer interactions.

James Hom, Chief Product Officer at SoundHound AI, stated that AI is no longer optional in restaurants but has become the new standard. He emphasized that SoundHound’s latest platform allows restaurants to automate across every customer touchpoint, creating an omnichannel experience that streamlines ordering and enhances efficiency.

The platform is powered by Polaris™, an advanced multimodal speech recognition model that delivers unmatched accuracy and fully autonomous voice AI, ensuring seamless order processing without human intervention. The system also includes AI-driven upselling, increasing order value by offering targeted recommendations 100% of the time. Smart Lane Technology enables customers to pre-order via call, text, or scan, reducing wait times and optimizing throughput. Additionally, real-time analytics provide actionable insights to improve performance, while multilingual support enhances accessibility for diverse customer bases.

SoundHound’s AI-driven solutions are already deployed in over 10,000 locations, working with major restaurant brands such as Chipotle, Church’s Texas Chicken, Jersey Mike’s, and White Castle. The company processes billions of AI-powered interactions annually, leveraging proprietary voice data to refine automation at scale. Hom noted that with over two decades of AI innovation, SoundHound has developed the most advanced solution for restaurants, seamlessly integrating voice AI across multiple ordering channels.

At CES 2025, SoundHound introduced the first-ever in-vehicle voice commerce ecosystem, allowing drivers and passengers to place food orders, process payments, and navigate to pickup locations — all through a fully hands-free infotainment system. This innovation extends the reach of SoundHound’s AI technology beyond traditional restaurant environments, reinforcing its leadership in voice AI.
