Milestone, an Israeli startup focused on engineering efficiency, has raised a $10 million seed round led by Heavybit and Hanaco Ventures to expand its AI-driven analytics platform. CEO Liad Elidan said early investor hesitation about granting access to customer codebases shifted once companies such as Kayak, Monday, and Sapiens adopted the technology.
Co-founded with CTO Professor Stephen Barrett of Trinity College Dublin, the company built a system that correlates generative AI usage with engineering metrics to show its true impact on productivity and code quality. Milestone aggregates data from codebases, project management tools, team structures, and code-generation systems to create what the founders describe as a comprehensive GenAI data environment for enterprises.
Elidan noted that customers are using this visibility to measure feature delivery speed, identify bugs tied to AI-generated code, and make informed decisions on where assistants like GitHub Copilot drive real ROI. The company has partnered with vendors including GitHub, Augment Code, Qodo, Continue, and Atlassian, whose venture arm joined the round. Additional backing came from prominent angels such as Tom Preston-Werner, John Donovan, Paul Daugherty, and Amit Agrawal, reinforcing Milestone’s enterprise-first strategy.
