Indian workforce-training startup Emversity has raised $30 million in an all-equity Series A round to expand job-ready education for roles less exposed to automation. The round was led by Premji Invest, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Z47, valuing the Bengaluru-based company at approximately $120 million post-money.
Founded in 2023 by Vivek Sinha, former COO of Unacademy, Emversity focuses on “grey-collar” professions such as healthcare and hospitality, where AI can augment but not replace human workers. The startup partners with universities and employers including Fortis Healthcare, Apollo Hospitals, and IHCL (Taj Hotels) to embed role-specific, employer-designed training into degree programs. With over 4,500 learners trained and 800 placements to date, the new capital will support expansion to more than 200 locations, deepen healthcare and hospitality programs, and extend into manufacturing and infrastructure-focused roles.
