Musk Jibes at Sunak Et Al Before AI Summit Interview at Bletchley Park, Implies Via Tweet Politicians Might Have Hidden Agendas

Hours before his scheduled interview with Rishi Sunak at the AI summit, Elon Musk took a jab at international leaders, hinting at a lack of sincerity in their stance on AI. In a tweet, Musk shared an illustrative depiction of representatives from the UK, US, and EU, portraying them as publicly declaring AI a “catastrophic risk” while secretly vying to advance the technology first.

In response to Musk’s participation, Mr. Sunak expressed optimism at a Bletchley Park press conference, stating that the summit’s outcomes would be beneficial for humanity. He emphasized the event as a crucial step, reflecting both the political resolve and technical prowess necessary to harness AI’s potential responsibly.

The summit is set to facilitate dialogues among politicians, tech companies, and researchers about the potential dangers posed by the progression of AI.
