LIG Nex1 Co., a South Korean defense technology firm, has acquired a controlling 60% stake in Ghost Robotics Corp., valuing the company at $400 million. This acquisition, announced after LIG Nex1’s initial interest in December 2023, aims to leverage LIG Nex1’s expertise in advanced weapon systems and manufacturing to accelerate Ghost Robotics’ growth.
Founded in 2015, Ghost Robotics specializes in quadrupedal uncrewed ground vehicles (Q-UGVs), designed for environments where traditional wheeled or tracked systems are ineffective. The deal positions the companies to develop advanced robots for both industrial and defense applications, enhancing their market leadership in versatile robotic solutions.
