  • Creative AI and Design Tools saw a significant 5000% increase in interest, while “Undress AI free tools” experienced a 3500% surge in searches, reflecting growing public curiosity in AI’s diverse applications.
  • The study also highlights the rising interest in Role-Playing AI Chatbots, Educational Tools, and Image Alteration Tools, with varying levels of growth and concerns about privacy and ethical implications.

A recent study by Linkee reveals that Chatbots and AI Conversational Tools are the most popular AI categories, amassing nearly 260 million searches in recent months. This finding highlights the growing public interest in AI technologies that facilitate human-like conversations. The study also identified significant surges in interest for other AI categories, with Creative AI and Design Tools seeing a 5000% increase and “Undress AI free tools” experiencing a 3500% rise in searches.

The study analyzed data from Google Trends to compile a comprehensive list of the most popular AI types used recently. The data was collected in July 2024 and was grouped by categories and total search volume, providing a clear picture of current AI trends. The analysis not only ranks the popularity of various AI tools but also highlights the increasing curiosity and adoption of these technologies across different sectors.

Chatbots and AI Conversational Tools Dominate

Leading the list, Chatbots and AI Conversational Tools generated nearly 260 million searches, making them the most sought-after AI technologies, according to Linkee’s study. This category includes popular terms such as “chat ai,” “ChatGPT,” and “Google ai.” Notably, Gemini AI, despite receiving fewer searches compared to ChatGPT, has seen the most significant increase in interest within this category, with a 3150% surge. This indicates a rapidly growing interest in new AI tools designed for conversational interactions.

Creative AI and Design Tools See Massive Growth

Following closely behind, Creative AI and Design Tools attracted 8.5 million searches. Although this is significantly less than the demand for chatbots, the category experienced the highest increase in interest, with searches for Heygen AI jumping by 5000%. This dramatic rise highlights a growing fascination with AI-powered creative tools, where users explore new methods for generating art and design content. Linkee’s study points out that this surge in popularity underscores the expanding role of AI in the creative industries.

Role-Playing AI Chatbots and Educational Tools Gain Traction

Role-playing AI Chatbots ranked third in popularity, drawing 5.7 million monthly searches. Janitor AI, a character-based chatbot, led the trend in this category with a 1450% rise in interest. The growing demand for character AI applications suggests that users are increasingly engaging with AI in more interactive and personalized ways.

Educational Tools secured the fourth position, with 4.6 million searches. Perplexity AI, an AI-powered research and conversational search engine, is leading this category with a 123% increase in interest. Linkee’s data suggests that more users are turning to AI for educational purposes, integrating these technologies into learning and research efforts.

Concerns Over Image Alteration Tools

In fifth place, Image Alteration Tools received 3.9 million searches, with a notable surge in interest for “Undress ai free tools,” which saw a 3500% increase. Linkee’s study highlights this category as a growing area of concern, with search terms like “remaker ai face swap” and “remove clothes ai tools” indicating rising privacy and ethical issues related to AI-driven image manipulation.

AI in Research, Marketing, and Neurodiversity Support

AI Research and Analysis Tools ranked sixth, attracting 3.25 million searches. Scite AI, a platform that helps researchers find relevant scientific papers, topped this category with a 52% increase in interest. This reflects the increasing reliance on AI to streamline research processes and manage large volumes of data.

In seventh place, AI Content Creation and Marketing Tools drew 2.2 million searches. The study noted a 1950% increase in searches for “AI marketing tools,” highlighting the growing integration of AI in digital marketing strategies. Linkee’s analysis also shows a trend in searches for “AI detector” tools, indicating a dual use of AI in both content creation and detection.

Neurodiversity Support Tools took the eighth spot with 247,000 searches. Goblin AI, a suite of tools designed to assist neurodivergent individuals, led this category with a 126% increase in interest. This points to a growing recognition of AI’s potential to support diverse cognitive needs and assist users in managing daily tasks.

Productivity AI Apps Round Out the List

Finally, Productivity AI Apps ranked ninth, with 62,000 monthly searches. Calendar.ai saw a 256% increase in interest, making it the leader in this category. According to Linkee’s study, the rise in popularity of productivity apps indicates that users are increasingly seeking AI-driven solutions to optimize their work and personal lives.
