Underwater Robotics Firm HonuWorx Secures Seven-Figure Investment to Transform Offshore Energy and Security Operations

Scottish underwater robotics firm HonuWorx has secured a seven-figure investment to advance its plans to revolutionize energy and security operations. Based in Aberdeen, the company aims to reduce costs and emissions in offshore repair and inspection through its fleet of autonomous, all-electric submarines. The funding was led by TRICAPITAL Angels, Scottish Enterprise, and the UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund (UKI2S).

HonuWorx’s ‘Loggerhead’ submarines deploy remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) from a mothership to offshore sites, controlled by operators onshore using advanced communications and AI. This technology cuts emissions by replacing diesel-powered vessels. The company, which plans to triple its workforce, is targeting a major capital raise later this year to support further expansion.
