Origin Robotics Secures €4M to Advance Defense Capabilities with Autonomous Drone Technology

Origin Robotics, a defense tech startup specializing in reusable autonomous drones, has secured €4 million in a pre-seed funding round. The round, led by Change Ventures with participation from Silicon Roundabout Ventures, raised €2.4 million in venture capital, while an additional €1.6 million came from EU grants and support from the Latvian Ministry of Defence.

The funding will drive production of Origin Robotics’ BEAK drone, an ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) system known for its precision-guided capabilities. Designed to provide high-precision intelligence solutions at a lower cost, BEAK offers an accessible option for defense agencies and governments.

Co-founded by Agris Kipurs and Ilja Nevdah in 2022, the company aims to support Europe and NATO allies with adaptable and cost-efficient defense technology. Origin Robotics, a founding member of the Military Technology, Drone, and Robotics Association, collaborates with key partners like LMT Defence and Edge Autonomy to advance military innovation in Europe.
