Precision solutions provider Cogna has raised $15 million (£11.6 million) in Series A funding, led by Notion Capital, with additional support from Hoxton Ventures and Chalfen Ventures. The funding will fuel Cogna’s growth in developing AI-powered custom software solutions tailored to address complex inefficiencies across critical sectors such as utilities, manufacturing, energy, and the public sector.
Cogna’s ‘service-as-a-software’ model leverages AI to streamline IT consultancy processes, empowering non-technical teams to outline specific operational challenges and receive rapid, tailored software solutions. These custom tools, designed without extensive development expertise, allow companies to enhance processes, automate high-value tasks, and drive productivity in procurement, operations, and asset management.
CEO Ben Peters expressed that “traditional industries have been left behind by the digital revolution due to the complexity of their operational challenges.” He added that Cogna’s mission is to “empower these sectors with precision software technology that addresses each unique pain point,” ultimately freeing expert teams from time-consuming tasks and unlocking new productivity.
Cogna’s approach has drawn praise from investors and clients alike. Jos White, General Partner at Notion Capital, remarked on Cogna’s ability to “reimagine what’s possible for industries historically overlooked by digital transformation,” delivering solutions that align precisely with each client’s needs. Cadent Gas COO Howard Forster highlighted how Cogna’s software allows them to streamline operations across diverse functions, while Network Plus CEO Kevin Fowlie noted that Cogna’s custom solutions bring immediate value and enable continuous innovation.
With this investment, Cogna plans to further expand its AI-powered platform to serve a wider range of industries, enhancing its automated software capabilities and enabling more businesses to tackle productivity challenges with custom solutions.
