Self Inspection Secures $3M to Expand AI-Powered Vehicle Inspection Technology

Self Inspection, an AI-driven vehicle inspection startup, has raised $3 million in a seed round co-led by Costanoa Ventures and DVx Ventures, the firm led by former Tesla president Jon McNeill. Westlake Financial, which facilitates over one million vehicle transactions annually, also participated in the round.

The company’s AI-powered software simplifies vehicle inspections by eliminating the need for specialized hardware, requiring only a smartphone camera to assess damage, estimate repair costs, and generate detailed reports comparable to those from traditional body shops. CEO Constantine Yaremtso emphasized that the funding will support scaling and expansion, allowing the company to integrate with more auto lenders, dealerships, and rental firms.

Unlike competitors such as UVEye, which rely on drive-through scanners, Self Inspection’s software offers a configurable, web-based solution that seamlessly integrates into existing customer workflows. DVx Ventures partner Karim Bousta highlighted that this streamlined, AI-powered process is setting a new standard for reliability and efficiency in the $30 billion vehicle inspection market.
