Unilever has announced a partnership with the Vector Institute to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) innovation across its global operations. Through this collaboration, Unilever will gain access to Vector’s cutting-edge research, expertise, and network of AI talent, strengthening its commitment to scaling AI-driven solutions.

The partnership builds on Unilever’s growing presence in Canada’s AI ecosystem, anchored by its Horizon3 AI Labs in Toronto. Established in 2023 as Unilever’s global AI hub, the Labs focus on integrating AI across business functions, enhancing efficiency, and unlocking new capabilities. With over 500 AI projects deployed in areas ranging from research and development to marketing, Unilever continues to advance its mission of leveraging AI at scale.

Vector Institute’s Chief Commercial Officer, Cameron Schuler, emphasized Toronto’s position as a global AI leader and welcomed the collaboration with Unilever’s Horizon3 AI Labs. He described the partnership as a testament to Toronto’s reputation for AI excellence and noted Unilever’s deepening investment in Canada’s AI ecosystem.

Unilever’s Chief Enterprise Technology Officer, Steve McCrystal, highlighted the company’s strategic focus on embedding AI throughout its value chain. He stated that by working with the Vector Institute and other key partners in Toronto, Unilever is positioning its Horizon3 AI Labs at the forefront of global AI advancements.
