Tax technology company april has secured $38 million in Series B funding, bringing its total raised to $78 million. The round was led by QED Investors, with continued backing from Nyca Partners and Team8.
Founded to streamline the tax experience through automation and integration, april has become the first company in over 15 years to achieve national e-file coverage in the U.S. Its AI-powered platform enables both self-service and professional-assisted tax filing, embedding directly into apps users already rely on year-round.
april’s infrastructure reduces the average time to file taxes to just 22 minutes, a fraction of the 13-hour IRS benchmark. The new funding will accelerate the platform’s expansion beyond filing, addressing a broader range of tax needs.
