PlayerZero Receives $15M Series A to Tackle AI-Generated Code Bugs with Autonomous Debugging Agents

As AI agents rapidly become a mainstay in software development, the risk of undetected code errors has grown exponentially. PlayerZero, a startup founded by Animesh Koratana, is addressing this challenge by training AI to detect and fix bugs before code reaches production environments.

Recently, PlayerZero announced a $15 million Series A round led by Ashu Garg of Foundation Capital, following an earlier $5 million seed backed by Green Bay Ventures and prominent angel investors including Matei Zaharia (Stanford DAWN lab founder and Databricks co-founder), Drew Houston (Dropbox), Dylan Field (Figma), and Guillermo Rauch (Vercel).

Built at Stanford’s DAWN lab, PlayerZero’s technology analyzes an enterprise’s historical bugs to proactively identify, fix, and prevent future failures. Already adopted by large companies like Zuora, PlayerZero is positioning itself as the immune system for complex, AI-assisted codebases.
