Maisa AI Closes $25M in Funding to Launch Accountable AI Agents for Enterprise Automation

Maisa AI, a year-old startup focused on building trustworthy AI systems for enterprise use, has secured $25 million in seed funding led by Creandum. The company has unveiled Maisa Studio, a self-serve platform that allows businesses to deploy digital workers trained through natural language, designed to improve reliability in automation.

Founded by David Villalón and Manuel Romero, Maisa AI was created to address the high failure rate of generative AI pilots by emphasizing accountability and supervision. Its architecture, powered by a system called HALP (human-augmented LLM processing) and a deterministic Knowledge Processing Unit, aims to minimize hallucinations and ensure every automated step can be audited.

Already working with clients in banking, automotive, and energy, Maisa positions itself as a next-generation alternative to robotic process automation. With dual bases in Valencia and San Francisco, the company plans to scale from 35 to 65 employees by early 2026 and expand globally, targeting regulated sectors that demand AI transparency and trustworthiness.
