AI-Blox, a Brussels-based scale-up developing physical AI technologies, has closed its first funding round with support from Smartfin, alongside finance&invest.brussels and existing backer imec.istart. The investment will enable the company to expand internationally and recruit top engineering talent.
Founded by Hans Stevens and Jeroen Plasman, AI-Blox builds high-performance edge computing systems designed for autonomous vehicles, industrial robots, smart factories, healthcare, and urban infrastructure. By processing data closer to the source, the company addresses the limitations of cloud-based AI, where delays and instability can undermine performance in critical environments.
Positioning itself at the forefront of physical AI, AI-Blox aims to accelerate adoption of real-world AI applications across industries that demand secure, fast, and reliable on-site intelligence.
