Google has entered a major partnership with Reliance Industries, led by billionaire Mukesh Ambani, to expand its AI presence across India. As part of the collaboration, Jio 5G subscribers will receive 18 months of free access to Google’s AI Pro subscription, including the Gemini 2.5 Pro model, advanced image and video generation tools like Nano Banana and Veo 3.1, Notebook LM for research, and 2 TB of cloud storage across Google services.
Valued at approximately ₹35,100 ($396), the offer will first target users aged 18 to 25 before expanding nationwide. Beyond consumer access, the agreement extends to enterprise adoption, with Reliance Intelligence becoming a strategic partner for Google Cloud to distribute Gemini Enterprise and develop prebuilt AI agents for Indian businesses.
The partnership reflects Google’s broader strategy to deepen its footprint in emerging markets and underscores India’s growing role as a key testing ground for large-scale generative AI deployment and infrastructure development.
