Amazon has introduced Kindle Translate, a new AI-driven translation service for authors publishing through Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). The beta program currently supports translations between English and Spanish and from German to English, with additional languages to follow.
Designed to help writers reach international audiences, Kindle Translate addresses the fact that less than 5% of books on Amazon are available in multiple languages. The tool allows authors to preview AI-generated translations before publishing and manage language selection, pricing, and release through the KDP dashboard.
All translated titles are clearly labeled as “Kindle Translate” editions and can be included in KDP Select and Kindle Unlimited. Amazon said the service is free to use during its beta phase as it continues improving translation accuracy and language coverage.
