Anthropic Expands Cowork With Enterprise Plug-Ins to Scale Agentic AI Beyond Coding

Anthropic has introduced plug-ins for Cowork, extending its agentic AI capabilities to enterprise teams beyond software development. Cowork, launched earlier this month, adapts the strengths of Claude Code into a general-purpose workspace designed for non-technical users. The new plug-ins are built to automate specialized departmental workflows, including marketing content creation, legal document review, customer support responses, and sales operations.

The plug-in system allows organizations to define how work should be performed, which internal tools and data sources Claude can access, and how critical workflows are handled to ensure consistent outcomes. Anthropic product lead Matt Piccolella said enterprise customers are expected to build bespoke plug-ins tailored to their own processes, with minimal technical effort. Anthropic has open-sourced 11 internal plug-ins alongside the launch. Plug-ins are now available to all paying Claude users, with broader organizational sharing tools planned as Cowork remains in research preview.
