Spotify Expands AI “Prompted Playlist” Feature to Additional Global Markets

Spotify has expanded its AI-powered “Prompted Playlist” tool to Premium subscribers in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and Sweden following earlier launches in New Zealand, the United States, and Canada. The feature allows users to generate customized playlists by describing a mood, activity, memory, or theme in natural language, eliminating the need to search for specific songs or artists.

The AI system analyzes prompts alongside listening history and current trends to assemble tailored playlists, providing brief explanations for track selections. Users can refine results, prioritize new or existing music, and schedule automatic updates. Still in beta, the tool includes usage limits as Spotify gathers feedback.

The rollout reflects the company’s broader strategy to embed artificial intelligence across discovery, personalization, and user experience on its platform.
