Amazon Expands Alexa+ With New “Sassy” AI Personality for Adult Users

Amazon has announced a new personality option for Alexa+, introducing a “Sassy” conversational style as part of its effort to expand customization in its generative AI assistant. The new personality is designed for adult users and will require additional security verification within the Alexa mobile app before it can be activated. Amazon confirmed that the feature will not be available when Amazon Kids settings are enabled.

The Sassy option joins other recently introduced conversational styles for Alexa+, including Brief, Chill, and Sweet, allowing users to tailor the tone and personality of the AI assistant to their preferences. Once enabled, the assistant responds with a sharper, more humorous tone while still delivering standard Alexa functionality.

Amazon said the personality may include explicit language and mature themes, which is why it requires verification measures such as identity checks within the app. However, the company emphasized that the assistant will still follow safety guidelines and will not engage in harmful or restricted content categories.

The update reflects Amazon’s broader push to evolve Alexa+ for the generative AI era by introducing more personalized and expressive AI interactions.
