Another Earth Raises $4M to Expand AI Platform for Synthetic Satellite Data

Vienna-based startup Another Earth has raised $4 million in seed funding to expand a software platform that generates synthetic satellite imagery used to train artificial intelligence models for environmental and operational risk detection. The investment, announced March 11, includes backing from Wake-Up Capital, Rockstart, Inovexus, and Stamco, along with support from Austrian government innovation programs Austria Wirtschaftsservice (AWS) and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).

Founded in 2024 by CEO Maya Pindeus, the company develops generative AI technology that produces high-resolution synthetic geospatial data and environmental scenario simulations. The platform is already being used by geospatial analytics firms including NovaTerra in Brazil and GeoTerra Image (GTI) in South Africa.

Another Earth said its technology helps organizations monitor biodiversity, track deforestation, and analyze environmental risks while also supporting models that estimate forest carbon stocks and other regulatory indicators. The company aims to address a key challenge in geospatial AI development by generating large volumes of labeled training data needed to improve environmental monitoring and predictive analytics.
