OpenAI has partnered with Indian IT giant Infosys to integrate its AI tools, including coding assistant Codex, into Infosys’s Topaz AI platform. The deal targets software modernisation, automated workflows, and large-scale AI deployment across Infosys’s client base spanning more than 60 countries.
The partnership forms part of OpenAI’s broader Codex Labs initiative, which embeds engineers directly with enterprise clients to accelerate deployment. Initial partners include Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, PwC, and Tata Consultancy Services. Codex now counts more than four million weekly active users.
For Infosys, the deal arrives as the company faces pressure from slowing client spending and investor concern that generative AI could erode traditional outsourcing revenues — shares have fallen over 22% this year. Infosys reported approximately $267 million in AI-related revenue in its most recent quarter. Financial terms were not disclosed.
