AVELIN AI Closes $3.7M in Funding to Expand Sovereign AI Platform for Regulated Industries

AVELIN AI, a sovereign AI platform designed for enterprises and governments in regulated industries, has closed a $3.7 million pre-seed funding round backed by angel investors. The company will use the funding to expand commercially across the Middle East, Europe, and North America, scale its GPU infrastructure, and further develop its proprietary Cross-Model Fusion technology.

AVELIN was founded by Yury Akinin, a PhD-trained entrepreneur who previously co-founded life sciences AI company Quantori, which reached a valuation exceeding $100 million. Akinin said enterprises and governments increasingly view AI ownership and control as essential to security and compliance, positioning AVELIN to provide organizations with AI infrastructure they can directly govern rather than rely on external providers.

The funding comes as sovereign AI gains strategic importance globally, driven by tightening regulation and rising enterprise demand to bring AI capabilities in-house, particularly across the Gulf region. AVELIN is supported by technology partners including NVIDIA Inception, AWS Activate, and the Dubai Future Foundation, along with programs through Red Hat, DigitalOcean, and OVHcloud.

With the new funding, AVELIN plans to convert existing commercial agreements into signed contracts, expand its presence across the Gulf, and grow into European and North American markets through the remainder of 2026, targeting regulated sectors including financial services, healthcare, government, and critical infrastructure.
