OpenAI has replaced chief revenue officer Denise Dresser after just nine months, appointing Dali Rajic, former president and chief operating officer of Wiz, to lead its sales organization. The change follows a broader leadership reshuffle in recent weeks, including the departures of chief operating officer Brad Lightcap and AGI deployment CEO Fidji Simo. Co-founder and president Greg Brockman, who has taken on greater management responsibility following Simo’s exit, announced Rajic’s hiring in a company blog post, crediting Dresser’s leadership during a formative period while emphasizing the need to build repeatable execution as OpenAI scales its enterprise reach. The company reports more than one billion weekly active users and two million business customers, though executives have acknowledged revenue growth hasn’t matched all internal targets. OpenAI has also confidentially filed with the SEC ahead of a potential IPO, while recently completing a $7 billion employee share tender offer, and CEO Sam Altman has emphasized a sharper focus on enterprise deployment this year.
In other OpenAI news, the company has introduced Ultrafast, a new processing mode designed to significantly speed up its flagship model, GPT-5.6 Sol. The company said Ultrafast can operate up to 14 times faster than standard processing, generating up to 750 output tokens per second, representing a shift toward maximizing useful output speed without relying on smaller, specialized models. OpenAI suggested the accelerated mode could benefit workflows such as incident response, customer support, financial analysis, and e-commerce. The feature, currently in limited preview, is powered by OpenAI’s partnership with chipmaker Cerebras and will expand to more users as capacity increases. Competitors including Anthropic have introduced similar accelerated modes, such as Claude’s fast mode, though OpenAI’s offering claims a notably higher speed advantage.
