Milan Cybersecurity Startup Bynario Secures €2.1M After AI Uncovers Apple Vulnerabilities

Bynario, a Milan-based cybersecurity startup, announced the closing of a €2.1 million pre-seed funding round, led by 360 Capital Partners with participation from PranaVentures. The funding will support development of the company’s AI-powered platform for identifying, validating, prioritizing, and remediating software vulnerabilities, alongside expansion of its engineering team.

The round follows research reported by the Financial Times in August, in which Bynario’s team used frontier AI models to uncover serious vulnerabilities in Apple’s macOS Screen Sharing technology, findings that Apple subsequently addressed with fixes. Co-founder and CEO Alfredo Pesoli said AI is reducing the cost of vulnerability research for attackers, making the challenge facing defenders increasingly urgent, while co-founder and COO Giancarlo Russo said the company aims to bridge advanced security research with practical, scalable solutions.

360 Capital partner Cesare Maifredi said the firm was drawn to Bynario’s approach of using autonomous AI systems to handle vulnerability discovery, validation, prioritization, and remediation. The investment comes as software vulnerabilities account for a significant share of enterprise security incidents, and as organizations increasingly struggle to keep pace with the growing volume of AI-accelerated security findings amid an ongoing cybersecurity skills shortage.
