Scimplify Secures $25M to Scale AI-Driven Specialty Chemicals Production

Scimplify, a Bengaluru-based startup using AI to produce specialty chemicals and critical materials, has secured $25 million in a strategic round led by Hitachi Ventures. Customers Henkel and Teknor Apex joined as new investors, alongside existing backers Accel India, Bertelsmann India Investments, Omnivore and 3one4 Capital, bringing total equity funding to $80 million.

Founded in 2023, Scimplify develops manufacturing processes at its research facilities in Bengaluru and Hyderabad and transfers them to a network of more than 500 partner factories. Its proprietary AI platform, Scinode, uses specialized agents for research, manufacturing and quality control to identify production routes and facilities while tracking quality and regulatory requirements. Co-founder Sachin Santhosh said the approach has, in some cases, cut delivery times to two months from the typical 12 to 18.

Santhosh said Scimplify’s annualized revenue run rate has tripled to about $200 million, with its U.S. run rate rising sixfold to roughly $60 million. Energy, electronics and defense now make up about 45% to 50% of revenue, driven partly by AI-fueled demand for materials, as the company helps customers reduce reliance on Chinese suppliers.

The startup plans to put about $7.5 million toward U.S. expansion and $2 million toward further Scinode development, while extending its production network to the U.S. and Japan.
