Billionaire Steve Cohen Predicts Four-Day Work Week as the Future, Cites AI Influence on Recent Golf Startup Investment

Mets owner and billionaire Steve Cohen anticipates the shift towards a four-day work week, driven by artificial intelligence and lower Friday productivity.

“I think I would have done the golf investment anyway, because I think there’s a longer-term thought, but my belief is a four-day work week is coming,” Cohen told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Wednesday.

This outlook influenced his investment in the TGL golf startup league and his interest in the PGA Tour. Cohen, through Cohen Private Ventures, secured the New York Team’s rights in TGL. While unsure of the exact timing for the workweek change, Cohen mentioned his traders might still work Fridays if markets stay open.

“I just think it’s an eventuality. … That’s just going into a theme of more leisure for people, which means golf rounds that go up, interest will go up, [and] I guess courses will be crowded,” said Cohen, also suggesting that the vast majority of people would, at some point, have the opportunity to enjoy a three-day weekend.
