Ferrari’s AI Engine Revs Up Personalization & Production

Ferrari, the iconic sports car manufacturer, is shifting gears in the digital age by harnessing the power of AWS generative AI solutions. This technological acceleration is transforming everything from customer experiences to production efficiency.

Mauro Coletto, Head of Business Analytics and AI at Ferrari, underscored the importance of this shift in a recent video: “I really believe that AI and all generative AI technology can really help Ferrari and all our customer experience.” This belief is driving Ferrari’s adoption of cutting-edge AI tools across various aspects of their business.

One of the most significant applications is in personalization.

“Generative AI will help us to give customers and dealers suggestions to match the best configuration for specific customer,” Simone Canditone, Digital Experience Manager at Ferrari, explained. This tailored approach enhances the buying experience, allowing customers to visualize their dream Ferrari with unprecedented ease and accuracy.

Beyond customer-facing applications, Ferrari is leveraging AI to revolutionize its internal processes. Silvia Gabrielli, Chief Digital and Data Officer at Ferrari, pointed out: “We are also really using large language models for enhancing, accelerating the design process. For example, we are using it on computer vision, both for Formula One, video competitor analysis, for anomaly detection in the manufacturing lines.”

This integration of AI into core processes is yielding impressive results. Ferrari reports up to 60% faster simulations using customized models on Amazon SageMaker, and a 20% increase in saved vehicle configurations through their AI-powered system.

As Ferrari continues to push the boundaries of automotive excellence, their embrace of AI technologies ensures they remain at the forefront of innovation. By harnessing the power of AWS generative AI, Ferrari is not just building cars — they’re crafting the future of automotive design and manufacturing.
