Julius AI, a fast-growing startup redefining data science through natural language interfaces, has secured $10 million in seed funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners. The round included participation from Horizon VC, 8VC, Y Combinator, and AI Grant, with backing from prominent angels such as Aravind Srinivas (Perplexity), Guillermo Rauch (Vercel), and Jeff Lawson (Twilio).
Founded by Rahul Sonwalkar after his 2022 graduation from Y Combinator, Julius functions as an AI-powered data analyst — capable of analyzing, visualizing, and modeling complex datasets from simple text prompts. Despite competing with general-purpose tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, Julius has carved a distinct niche, now boasting over 2 million users and generating 10 million+ data visualizations.
With growing traction across business and academia, including a tailored deployment at Harvard Business School, the funding will support Julius in scaling its infrastructure and expanding use cases for AI-native data science.
