Harjot Gill, who previously co-founded Netsil and later launched FluxNinja, founded CodeRabbit in 2023 after recognizing how the rise of AI coding assistants would overwhelm traditional code review. His prediction has been borne out: engineers using tools like GitHub Copilot generate vast amounts of code, but much of it requires intensive correction.
CodeRabbit’s AI-powered platform addresses this by deeply understanding a company’s codebase, identifying bugs, and providing targeted feedback. The tool is now used by more than 8,000 businesses, including Chegg, Groupon, and Mercury, helping teams cut code review staffing needs in half.
The company announced a $60 million Series B round led by Scale Venture Partners with participation from NVentures (Nvidia’s venture arm), CRV, and others, valuing the startup at $550 million. With $15 million in annual recurring revenue and growth of 20% per month, CodeRabbit is positioning itself as the leading standalone AI code review solution against rivals like Graphite and Greptile.
