Google Meet Launches AI-Powered Virtual Makeup Filters for Video Calls

Google has introduced an AI-driven virtual makeup feature for Google Meet, allowing users to apply digital makeup effects directly during video calls. The feature includes 12 customizable makeup styles, accessible in the “Appearance” menu under “Portrait touch-up.”

The AI technology ensures the virtual makeup remains accurately aligned with facial movements, maintaining a natural appearance even as users move or interact on camera. The update, available on mobile and web starting October 8, builds on Google Meet’s existing touch-up options such as complexion smoothing and under-eye brightening.

This enhancement positions Google Meet to compete with platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom, which already offer similar virtual makeup tools.
