AttiFin AI has secured £5 million in seed funding to accelerate the development of its enterprise-grade legal AI platform ahead of its 2026 launch. The investment strengthens the company’s mission to create the first large-scale AI system trained exclusively on UK and devolved law, arriving at a time of sustained growth in the £40 billion UK legal sector and rising adoption of AI-driven legal technology.
Backed by the founders of Scrumconnect, AttiFin draws on deep experience supporting national justice programmes and aims to build technology that reflects the complexity and specificity of British legislation. The new funding will support a major hiring effort, with 25 technical and commercial roles created in AI engineering, platform development, data operations, business development, and legal research as the company scales.
AttiFin also confirmed it will relocate from London to Newcastle, citing the region’s expanding AI talent base, strong universities, and concentration of legal-services firms. The move underscores the company’s view that world-class legal technology can be built and deployed outside the South East.
AttiFin’s platform will provide lawyers with fully sourced answers, case-ready drafting tools, and strict safeguards against hallucinations, all hosted in UK data centres to meet stringent accuracy and residency requirements.
