Aya Data announced it has secured $900,000 in seed funding to expand its artificial intelligence products focused on agriculture and local-language communication across Africa. The round was led by 54Collective, with participation from angel investors, bringing the company’s total funding to $1.15 million.
Founded in 2021 by Freddie Monk and Ama Larbi-Siaw, Aya Data provides data collection and annotation services used to train large language models for global clients including Nvidia and MIT. The new capital will support the scaling of AyaGrow, its AI-powered precision agriculture platform, and AyaSpeech, an end-to-end speech-to-speech system for African languages, while expanding its local technical workforce.
