Kana Emerges From Stealth With $15M to Deploy AI Agents for Marketing Operations

Marketing technology startup Kana has emerged from stealth with $15 million in seed funding led by Mayfield, introducing a platform of artificial intelligence agents designed to automate core marketing functions. The company was founded by industry veterans Tom Chavez (CEO) and Vivek Vaidya (CTO), whose previous ventures include companies acquired by Microsoft and Salesforce.

Kana’s system uses adaptable AI agents to perform tasks such as data analysis, audience targeting, campaign management, customer engagement, and media planning while integrating with existing marketing software. The platform also incorporates synthetic data generation to enhance market research and testing capabilities, with human oversight built into workflows. The funding will support expansion across engineering, product development, and commercialization, with Mayfield managing partner Navin Chaddha joining the board.
