Spott, a Leuven, Belgium-based AI-native applicant tracking system and CRM platform for recruitment agencies, has raised $21 million in a Series A led by Balderton Capital, with Base10 Partners, Y Combinator and Fortinoparticipating.
The platform unifies candidate management, search, conversations, outreach and automation, turning emails, CVs and pipelines of up to two million candidates into searchable intelligence. Spott estimates human judgment makes up only 20% of a recruiter’s job, and its AI automates the administration and sourcing that fill the rest while keeping recruiters in control. The company said customer data shows the platform can lift placements and agency revenue by up to 30%.
Spott was founded in 2024 by university friends Lander Degrève, Manu Vanderveeren and Samuel Smeys, drawing on their work with recruitment businesses at McKinsey, Bain and BCG. Degrève, the CEO, said recruiters were losing hours moving data between outdated systems, and that Spott puts AI to work around them so they can deepen client and candidate relationships. Phil Chambers, Partner at Balderton, said the founders had seen the problem’s impact firsthand and that rapid customer adoption proves the need.
Revenue has grown more than tenfold since early 2026. The funding will support new offices in Sydney and New York, headcount growth from 44 to around 60, and proactive agentic AI features that surface vacancies and candidate moves.
