Anthropic has expanded its Claude for Startups program, offering qualifying young companies subsidized access to its AI models along with a range of additional benefits. The company announced the update on Tuesday as part of its SF Tech Week event.
Under the revamped program, eligible startups receive a free year of Claude Team, Anthropic’s paid plan for groups, covering up to five premium seats, as well as $1,000 in API credits for building with Claude. Participants also gain access to Claude Marketplace, which allows them to build plug-ins for the service, and can book virtual office hours with Anthropic’s Applied AI team.
In its announcement, Anthropic said it created the program because it believes the benefits of AI will reach most people through the companies that build on top of models rather than through the models alone. The company added that partnering closely with founders and developers is therefore central to its mission.
The initiative is open to companies founded within the past five years or those that have received funding in the past two years. Startups interested in taking part can apply through the Claude for Startups program page.
