Nous Research, a New York-based AI lab focused on human-centric simulators and decentralized model development, has raised $65 million in funding to accelerate its open-source initiatives. The round includes a newly announced $50 million investment led by Paradigm, following a prior $15 million from Together AI, Distributed Global, North Island Ventures, Delphi Digital, and Solana co-founder Raj Gokal.
Founded in 2023 by Jeffrey Quesnelle, Karan Malhotra, Teknium, and Shivani Mitra, Nous will use the capital to expand its engineering teams, scale compute infrastructure for its Psyche Network, and advance research on collaborative AI.
The company’s DisTrO technology enables efficient, decentralized model training, and its published work is already influencing models from Meta and DeepSeek.
