Meta is reportedly in advanced discussions to invest more than $10 billion in AI data infrastructure company Scale AI, according to Bloomberg. If finalized, this would represent Meta’s largest external AI investment to date and one of the biggest private company funding deals in the sector’s history.
Scale AI, led by CEO Alexandr Wang, provides essential data labeling services for AI model training and counts OpenAI and Microsoft among its clients. The company generated $870 million in revenue last year and is projecting $2 billion in 2025.
Meta, already a backer in Scale AI’s $1B Series F round, collaborated with the firm on Defense Llama, a military-focused LLM built on Llama 3.
