San Francisco-based AI infrastructure provider fal has secured a $125 million Series C funding round, bringing its valuation to $1.5 billion. The round was led by Meritech Capital, with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Shopify Ventures, and Google’s AI-focused fund, AI Futures. Existing backers including Bessemer Venture Partners, Kindred Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Notable Capital, First Round Capital, Unusual Ventures, and Village Global also joined.
fal specializes in running multimodal AI models — particularly image, audio, and video generation — for enterprise clients. As interest in non-text-based generative models surges, fal has emerged as a key enabler for companies using AI to produce dynamic creative assets, from product imagery for ecommerce to tailored advertising content.
