Uber, Nebius Commit Up to $375M to Avride for Robotaxis and Delivery Bots

Insider Brief

  • Avride secured up to $375 million from Uber and Nebius to accelerate autonomous ride-hailing and delivery.
  • The deal extends a 2024 multi-year Uber agreement, with a Dallas robotaxi launch planned by end-2025 and delivery robots already active for Uber Eats in Jersey City, Austin, and Dallas.
  • Funding will scale fleet and AI development, support new market expansion, and de-risk deployment timelines through combined capital and commercial commitments.

Avride secured up to $375 million in strategic investments and commercial commitments from Uber Technologies and Nebius Group to accelerate autonomous ride-hailing and delivery, the company said.

The deal extends a multi-year strategic agreement Avride signed with Uber in 2024. Avride plans to launch a robotaxi service on the Uber platform in Dallas by the end of 2025. Its delivery robots already fulfill Uber Eats orders for hundreds of restaurants in Jersey City, Austin, and Dallas.

“We’re delighted to welcome Uber as a strategic investor that shares Avride’s vision and will enable the company to move further and faster in pioneering AI-driven autonomous transportation,” Arkady Volozh, founder and CEO of Nebius Group, said in a statement.

Avride said the funding will support fleet growth, AI-driven product development, and expansion into new markets. The company indicated the investment as a step toward scaling autonomous transportation services alongside Uber’s marketplace.

Sarfraz Maredia, Global Head of Autonomous Mobility & Delivery at Uber, noted, “We’re excited to continue deepening our partnership with Avride and look forward to introducing their impressive autonomous driving technologies to more people in more market.”

The transaction combines capital and commercial commitments intended to de-risk deployment timelines and broaden availability of both robotaxi and delivery services. Avride said the proceeds will be directed toward scaling its production footprint, advancing autonomy software, and supporting operations in new geographies.

“At Avride, we have a clear vision and a strong plan to make autonomous transportation an integral part of everyday life. We are thrilled to have world-class partners like Uber who share this vision and continue to support us,” according to Dmitry Polishchuk, CEO of Avride.
