Crustdata Raises $6M Seed Round to Power Real-Time Data Infrastructure for AI Agents

Crustdata, a Y Combinator–backed startup, has secured $6 million in seed funding led by Y Combinator and A Capital, with participation from General Catalyst, SV Angel, and Phosphor Capital. The funding will accelerate hiring and product expansion as the company builds a real-time data layer for AI agents that enables access to live, accurate web information.

Founded by Abhilash Chowdhary, Chris Pisarski, and Manmohit Grewal, Crustdata’s platform uses proprietary crawlers to track companies and individuals online, giving customers — including top AI sales, recruiting, and investment teams — an intelligence edge. Y Combinator itself uses Crustdata to identify founders for recruitment.

In just seven months, Crustdata scaled revenue from $770,000 to over $4 million without outbound marketing, underscoring demand for AI-ready data infrastructure. The company plans to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams as it targets enterprise customers deploying AI agents that rely on fresh, real-time data to operate effectively.
