Anthropic Targets $20B Funding Round as Investor Demand Surges, Valuation Set at $350B

Anthropic has reportedly doubled the size of its latest fundraising round, lifting its target from $10 billion to $20 billion amid strong investor demand, according to the Financial Times. People familiar with the process indicated that the round, expected to close shortly, would value the company at approximately $350 billion, positioning Anthropic among the most valuable private AI companies globally.

The company, best known for its Claude large language model and the Claude Code developer tool, increased the raise in response to heightened interest from late-stage investors. Backers in the round are expected to include Sequoia Capital, which also supports rival OpenAI, alongside a Singapore sovereign wealth fund and Coatue.

Anthropic has been preparing for a potential public offering after hiring legal advisers last year, following a $13 billion raise in September that valued the company at $183 billion.
